Coup de Burst

The Coup de Burst (風来バースト (クー・ド・バースト) Ku do Bāsuto?, literally meaning "Burst Blow") is a maneuver used by the ship that was first seen in order to escape Vice-Admiral Garp's attack.[9] Basically, the Sunny uses three barrels of Cola to fire a giant cannon downward and rocket the ship into the air thus making a great escape or as Franky calls it, a "Water Escape". The maneuver mimics the Going Merry's escape from Enies Lobby as well as the various other situations in which the Merry flew across through the sky. Thanks to the use of Adam Wood in its construction, the Sunny can withstand the force of this maneuver without incurring damage, whereas any other ship would suffer from its use.

In the Fishman Island Arc, it is shown that the Coup de Burst's power can be limited to smaller blasts, in the case of an emergency. Whether this feature was present before the time-skip is unknown.
